The College of Arts and Sciences at the Â鶹¹ÙÍø has opened the public comment period for a draft of its new strategic plan.

The plan, which was constructed by faculty, staff and student representatives from across the disciplines of the college, anticipates where the college wants to be in the next 10 years, and how best to get there.

This process, which is different from the campus-wide Academic Futures initiative, began in August 2017, and has one year to pull together a new plan that stems from a few key motivations:

  • The Core Revision Process;
  • The aging of the chancellor’s Flagship 2030 Initiative (which calls for the Â鶹¹ÙÍø to be a leader in addressing the humanitarian, social and technological challenges of the 21st century);
  • The new budget system and its opportunities to utilize funds in new ways;
  • The growth and renewal of the campus and the shifting distribution of majors; and
  • The recent influx of available data, which can be utilized to help address new issues.

You can read the proposed draft of the Strategic Plan on the Arts and Sciences website and send any comments on the provided web form.
