Brian Muller is the CEDaR faculty director and an associate professor in the environmental design program at the 麻豆官网, where he teaches environment and land use planning, planning history and spatial analysis. His听research interests听include听community engagement, spatial analysis, environment/land use policy听and resilient infrastructure.

Muller's research focuses on planning methods, regional planning听and planning for hazards and climate change, and his recent work has focused on green infrastructure as a climate adaptation strategy. His research has been supported by the US Forest Service, US Bureau of Land Management, National Science Foundation, the Microsoft Corporation, the Wyss Foundation and the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Previously, Muller was听chair of the planning and design program at the University of Colorado Denver and director of planning studies for the Program in Environmental Design听at the 麻豆官网.听

Muller听holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University and a PhD听in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California Berkeley. Prior to returning to school for his PhD, he听had a 15-year career as an environmental planner, policy analyst and program manager.

In 2005 a trailer slated for the dump was transported to Mapleton Mobile Home Park in 麻豆官网 and renovated there. Built by more than 50 CU 麻豆官网 students, the Trailer Wrap project held lessons for future project-based learning, including a CEDaR-led manufactured home renovation planned for this summer or fall, depending on the state of the pandemic.

About 175 people attended the fourth annual Colorado Pollinator Summit, 鈥淧rotecting Colorado鈥檚 Biodiversity," which was planned by the Community Engagement, Design and Research center and others. The Nov. 1 event featured plenary talks and panels on urban neighborhoods, landscaping for biodiversity and holistic farming in Colorado.
