CU Engage Faculty Director Ben Kirshner was honoredÌýwith this year'sÌýProvost’s Faculty Achievement AwardÌýearlier today,Ìýat CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø'sÌýEleventh Annual Fall Convocation & Awards Ceremony.

Dr. Kirshner was nominated by the former Dean of the School of Education, Distinguished Professor Lorrie Shepard, and thenÌýselected for the awardÌýby a campus committee of hisÌýcolleagues.

In selecting Dr. KirshnerÌýfor this award, the faculty committee pointed to the importance of hisÌýbook, . They noted that hisÌýbook appeared with an important press and has already won an award.ÌýThey were also intrigued by his quantitative and qualitative examination of the ways in which having youth participate in community activism strengthens development. In addition, the committeeÌýappreciated Dr. Kirshner'sÌýwork as having both scholarly and practical impact, explainedÌýProvost Russell MooreÌýin a letter of recognition.
