Cassandra Goodby earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the ATLAS Institute in 2018 and 2020, respectively. During her studies, she held a research fellowship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as part of their professional research experience program. She also served as the lead organizer for T9Hacks, a hackathon for women and non-binary individuals hosted annually at ATLAS. Goodby is currently a designer and developer. Less than three years after graduation, she has received multiple promotions to become a senior design technologist at Amazon, where she incorporates an engineering perspective and a creative problem-solving approach to deliver user-centered experiences through design methodology.
Contributions to the ATLAS Institute over the past year:
Goodby was a star student as an undergraduate and graduate student at the ATLAS Institute. She was self-directed, motivated and tireless in the pursuit of her goals. It is no surprise that in three short years, she has had tremendous success and become a model alumna. She makes time to speak to ATLAS classes multiple times per semester. Students appreciate not only her strong example of what they can achieve, but also her willingness to be honest and approachable. In addition to guest speaking, she mentors students on portfolios and interviewing and takes time to speak to faculty and staff about industry needs and program development.
Goodby has been helpful in recruiting students to ATLAS 鈥� both directly and indirectly. Even without her intervention, applicants to the program point to Goodby鈥檚 portfolio and current position as an attractor to the ATLAS master's program. Current students look to her as a model of what their career paths could be with hard work and dedication.
