Urrea is a and professor of creative writing at the University of Illinois Chicago. His memoir,听Nobody's Son: Notes from an American Life, received the American Book Award in 1999 and his nonfiction book,听The Devil鈥檚 Highway: A True Story, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
