Join our College of Engineering ITL Program鈥檚 new Colorado Science Technology Engineering and Math (COSTEM) mentorship program to work with 6th听and 7th听grade students in 麻豆官网 and Longmont 鈹� providing weekly math and science tutoring, helping students explore hands-on engineering activities, and serving as a mentor for 1-2 small groups.听
COSTEM mentors will also assist with a few K12 visits to the CU campus throughout the year and must complete mandatory training. Most COSTEM mentors will work ~ 5-10 hours weekly, with one 10 hr/wk position available for the lead mentor. In addition to mentoring a small group of students, the lead mentor will also coordinate schedules, organize supplies for both the COSTEM and TeachEngineering after-school engineering clubs and be the primary liaison between CU and the host schools/programs.听
All COSTEM mentor positions require weekly availability from 3-5pm on听Mondays and/or one other weekday (TBD) every week of the semester. Some evening meetings may be required.听听A background check is required, and applicants must be听Earn-Learn eligible听(enrolled in College of Engineering and Applied Science and meet the听GPA requirement鈥�2.3 undergraduate, 2.7 graduate.)听Work study-eligible students are encouraged to apply! - Must be an engineering upper-division ($12/hr) or graduate student ($15/hr)
- Must be reliable and show up every week
- Work 5-10 hours per week
- After-school activities between 2:30 鈥� 5pm on various week days
