COSINC is introducing our new Xenocs Xeuss 3.0 instrument with a small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) workshop. We will present an overview of the SAXS technique, recent applications, and a demonstration of measurement capabilities. Participants may request samples measurements.

The SAXS technique has diverse applications in scientific research and industry, in areas such as polymers and composites, semiconductors, biomaterials, gas capture and storage, material sciences, forensics, and pharmaceuticals.

Xray machine Information provided by SAXS:

  • Domain size and crystalline fraction
  • Nanoparticle size, shape, and agglomeration
  • Protein assembly and lipid structure
  • Pore size distribution

Variable temperature, in-situ straining, and light illumination environments are available!

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

This is a limited participation of 12 for the in-person session. The onsite option is effective and highly recommended for participants who would like some basic hands-on training, engage with researchers and Xenocs scientists/engineers and use the instrument in the near future. Register by Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m.

A remote option is available to attend the lecture and talk sessions. There will be a waitlist for onsite participation and the workshop will be offered again this year, depending on demand.


About COSINC: The Colorado Shared Instrumentation in Nanofabrication and Characterization (COSINC) is a multidisciplinary shared user research facility and service center, within the College of Engineering and Applied Science, that provides access to state-of-the-art equipment in the areas of micro and nanofabrication, ISO 5 cleanroom, nanomaterials characterization and metrology and offers expertise and advanced hands-on training in the same related areas.
