Eric Bogatin

Since Jan 2021, Eric Bogatin has been a full time professor in theÌýECEE department teaching the Practical PCB Course and the Senior Design Capstone Course. In addition, he is involved with research activities related to signal integrity, circuit design and analysis, and rapid prototyping of circuits, collaborating with other faculty and involving graduate and undergraduate students.Ìý

He is also the technical editor of theÌý, one of the few industry-focused publications that covers signal integrity, power integrity and electromagnetic compliance topics.Ìý

Prof Bogatin is a Fellow with Teledyne LeCroy and continues to offer webinars and presentations on best measurement practices using real time scopes, TDR and VNA instruments. As part of his Fellow activities, he is the Dean of the .

Prof Bogatin received his BS in physics from MIT in 1976 and MS and PhD in physics from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1980. In his graduate work, he focused on lasers, quantum optics and desktop experiments on special relativity and cosmology using frequency stabilized lasers.

For the next 40 years, he worked in industry wearing many hats, such as senior member of the technical staff, technical marketing manager, product manager, Director of New Technologies, worldwide operations manager for new Technology Introduction, VP of R&D, CTO, CEO and entrepreneur. He has held senior engineering and management positions at Bell Labs, Raychem, Sun Microsystems, Ansoft and Interconnect Devices. He has written 18 technical booksÌýabout signal integrity and electronicsÌýand lectures on signal integrity topics worldwide.

In 2011, his company, Bogatin Enterprises, which he founded with his wife, Susan in 1990, was acquired by Teledyne LeCroy. After concluding his live public classes in 2013, he devoted his efforts to creating the , a web portal to stream all of his recorded classes and training content online, for individuals and for companies.
