Simon received his B.S. in Physics and Computer Science at Allegheny College. His thesis focused on using Deep Reinforcement Learning for quadcopter navigation. His current research work focuses on Optimal Control for Quantum Gravimeters. Simon's broader research interest is in robotic co-design, which leverages multidisciplinary knowledge for developing novel sensors and actuators.

When he's not in the lab, he enjoys working on his latte art, skateboarding, and developing his sound in jazz piano.
