This week the GPSG Assembly passed a resolution regarding graduate and professional student compensation. The resolution has been shared with CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø campus and CU System leadership.
The resolution calls on CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø to:
- Work towards increasing the stipend income for graduate and professional students on appointments to match or exceed that of aspirational peer institutions, adjusted for cost of living in the Â鶹¹ÙÍø community.
- Evaluate and revise graduate student stipends annually to proportionally align stipend amounts to Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s cost of living, as determined by the federal government.
- The University of Colorado shall continue to offer financial support to faculty paying graduate students whose current funding may not accommodate increased pay for graduate students.
- The University of Colorado shall protect graduate student stipends and regular stipend increases against cuts in times of economic hardship.
