ISSS was recently informed by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) that new states that an immigration document issued by ISSS must be issued directly to the student, not to a third-party representative. For many years, ISSS has had an internal process allowing international students and scholars to assign someone else to pick up their immigration document. In light of this guidance, however, this option is no longer available. ISSS will only release a document directly to the F-1/ J-1 student/scholar that it is issued to after personal identification (Passport, Buff OneCard, etc.) has been reviewed by ISSS.

If you are unable to come to ISSS to pick up a document, you have the option of having the document sent to your address by U.S. Postal Service or another carrier service using eShipGlobal. Please note that the document must be sent to your address. If you request to have it sent to your parents’ address, you must be a resident at that address. F-1 and J-1 students/scholars may still pick up documents for their F-2/J-2 dependents, but dependents may not pick up the documents for the F-1/J-1 primary status holder.
