Hector joined the Kaar and Schwartz labs in 2019 pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering. Before joining CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø, Hector earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at University of Salamanca (2016), and his M.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (2019).
Hector's research focuses on understanding the phenomenology of industrially relevant enzymes interfacing with polymer-coated surfaces. He uses computational methods, as well as experimental single molecule and ensemble methods.
Outside of the lab, Hector enjoys the gym, biking, hiking and grilling.
