Sami received a BS in chemical engineering with a bioengineering concentration from the University of Notre Dame in 2022. During her time there, she worked under Dr. Marya Lieberman to fabricate and test microfluidic paper analytical devices utilized by health care workers in Kenya and Liberia that test and validate the active pharmaceutical ingredient composition. She also worked to design, run, analyze, and implement an affordable, hands-on analytical chemistry lab experiment that models enzyme kinetics of glucose reactions utilizing microfluidics for students to use at home during the period when students had to do remote learning during the COVID pandemic.

Sami is pursuing a Chemistry PhD focusing on materials and nanoscience at the University of Colorado, Â鶹¹ÙÍø. She is a member of Ryan Hayward and Dan Schwartz's groups focusing on polymer crystallization and small molecule tracking experiments.

Outside of the lab, Sami loves to hike, ski, read, and travel!
