Meet Assistant Professor Debanjan Mukherjee who joined CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø's Department of Mechanical Engineering in January 2019. Mukherjee researches complex flow physics underlying physiological and biomedical phenomena to understand mechanisms of diseases like stroke and heart attack.

Meet Instructor Michael Walker who joined CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø's Department of Mechanical Engineering in January 2019, though he has been working with the university since 2014. Walker also continues to serve as the Director of the Energy Engineering minor in the college and has won awards for his impact on students.

Meet Assistant Professor Nick Bottenus who will be joining CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø's Department of Mechanical Engineering in January 2020. Bottenus’ research is focused on developing system-level solutions to problems in diagnostic ultrasound imaging.

Meet Assistant Professor Kaushik Jayaram who will be joining CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø's Department of Mechanical Engineering in January 2020. He is coming from Professor Rob Wood's Microrobotics Lab at Harvard University and brings expertise in combining biology and robotics to uncover what makes animals successful at locomotion in nature.

Meet Professor Massimo Ruzzene who will be joining CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø's Department of Mechanical Engineering in August 2019. Ruzzene brings experience as past Program Director with the NSF and expertise in wave propagation in complex materials, metamaterials, vibration and noise control, diagnostics, and health and usage monitoring of systems.

Meet Instructor Janet Y. Tsai who began as an instructor of mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering design in January 2019. Her research focuses on ways to encourage nontraditional students to pursue interests in engineering.
