Dalai Lama Campus Traffic Impacts
On Thursday, June 23, 2016, the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Student Government, the CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø Cultural Events Board and the Tibetan Association of Colorado will welcome His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Coors Events Center.ÌýThere will be two teaching sessions at 9:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m.ÌýBecause of this visit, traffic and parking on the Â鶹¹ÙÍø campus will be heavily impacted.
Access to Regent Drive between Broadway and Colorado will be limited to those people who have either aÌýprepaid Dalai Lama parking permitÌý´Ç°ù aÌývalid CU Parking Permit.ÌýEven with a valid parking permit, no one will be allowed to stop on Regent Drive to drop off or pick up riders.
If you are coming to campus via taxi, Uber, or Lyft, we highly recommend finding a safe spot to be dropped off on the west side of Campus.
If you are coming to the event and do not have aÌýprepaid Dalai Lama parking permitÌý´Ç°ù aÌývalid CU Parking Permit, we highly recommend that you use RTD’s bus service, ride a bikeÌý´Ç°ù walk to get to campus. The roads in and around the CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø campus will also see short, temporary closures as His Holiness is transported to and from the Coors Event Center.
