Project Description

The researcher uses variations of the two-level system (TLS) model of amorphous glasses to analyze superconducting microwave resonator and qubit data to identify differences in decoherence channels between devices made with a variety of superconducting and dielectric materials. Additional tasks include performing experimental microwave and dc measurements at room temperate and in a dilution refrigerator and designing and simulating superconducting devices.Other key responsibilities of the researcher include but are not limited to developingÌýmeasurement tools and techniques to characterize and rigorously intercompare materials and devices for quantum information science (QIS) using superconducting circuits, developing and disseminatingÌýmeasurement best practices for QIS using superconducting circuits and interacting with stakeholders in industry, academia, and government institutes to understand the needs of the QIS community, to strategically disseminate tools and techniques, and to seek external funding from sponsors with synergistic and mutually beneficial goals.
