Abby received her BS in Environmental Earth Science from Tulane University in 2018. She completed an honors thesis evaluating the organic and mineral content of suspended sediment in the Mississippi River during the falling hydrograph. She then worked as a research assistant at the Water Institute of the Gulf in New Orleans, where she conducted field work and data analysis on projects regarding the protection and restoration of Southeastern Louisiana. Abby began pursuing her PhD at CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø in the Department of Geological Sciences in Fall 2019. Her research focuses on fluvial and deltaic geomorphology. She combines field observations and numerical modeling to better understand the physical processes involving deltaic evolution. So far in graduate school, she has worked on a modeling project that predicted water and sediment discharge in the Ganges-Brahmaputra River through 2100. She is currently assessing delta progradation processes in the Elephant Butte Reservoir delta along the Rio Grande River in New Mexico.
