CU Psychology and Neuroscience Assistant Professor聽June Gruber (Clinical)聽was in the news, getting interviewed for an article in The Coloradan, the CU Alumni Association Magazine,聽about the downside of happiness, a topic she researches in her lab. Her research shows that there may be such a thing as being too happy, such as when happy emotions interfere with or mask underlying negative emotions until there are serious聽negative consequences (e.g.,聽depression, anxiety,聽risky behavior).
