Although manyÌýtuition classification petitions and forms can be completed online, some are still only available in PDF format.

Follow the instructions below to submit yourÌýpaper petition or formÌýand all supporting documents electronically, without a trip to our office.

Paper Domicile Exception Forms

    To submit a paperÌýexception form (see list of eligible forms in gray box at right):

      1. Obtain and save a clear photograph or scan of your completed and signed form. Accepted file types: png, jpg, pdf, tif.
      2. If you need to submit supporting documents that aren't already in a digital format, obtain and save a clear photograph or scan of each one.
      3. Log in to the Office of the Registrar'sÌýÌý(if you don't have an IdentiKey yet, use our )
      4. Your student information will populate automatically, leaving two fields blank:
        • Reference number: Ignore this field.
        • Alternate Email Address: Unless the CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø email address field is also blank, please ignore this field.
      5. Stop and review the form's instructions carefully.
      6. Under "Documents for Upload," click the drop-down and select "Residency Exception (military or other)."
      7. Click "Attach,"Ìýlocate the image of your form, and click "Open."
      8. If the upload was successful, the document will be listed with a "(Pending)" label. If you uploaded the file in error, click "Remove."
      9. Before you submit the form, upload any required supporting documents, as well (select "Residency Supporting Document" from the drop-down).
      10. Once you've uploaded all files related to your exception request, click "Submit."

      If you're unable to submit your materials using the document upload form, you may instead do so by email (see the "Troubleshooting" box above), postal mailÌýor in person during our scheduled front desk hours.

      Please allow five to seven business days for us to review your submission.

      Paper Residency Petitions (Emancipation, Adult,ÌýParent)

      To submit a paper residency petition and your required supporting documentation:

      1. Obtain and save a clear photograph or scan of each page of your completed and signed residency petition. Accepted file types: png, jpg, pdf, tif.
      2. If your supporting documents aren't already inÌýdigital format, obtain and save a clear photograph or scan of each one.ÌýDo not combine your supporting documents with your petition.
      3. Log in to the Office of the Registrar'sÌýÌý(if you don't have an IdentiKey yet, use our )
      4. Your student information will populate automatically, leaving two fields blank:

      Due to the large number of petitions we receive each semester, we ask that you refrain from contacting our office to check on your submissionÌýuntil at least four weeks have passed.

      Petition processing can take up to six weeks to complete. Please check your for updates.
