CU Â鶹¹ÙÍø and CU Anschutz Medical Campus will welcome hundreds of science journalists, storytellers and organizational communicators to their respective campuses Oct. 9–13, 2020, for ScienceWriters2020 (#sciwri20).

Now in its 13th year, this seed grant program—designed to stimulate new areas of research and creative work on the Â鶹¹ÙÍø campus—is accepting proposals through Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Inscripta, Inc., has announced the launch of the Onyxâ„¢ Digital Genome Engineering platform, which enables scientists to create libraries of millions of precisely engineered single cells in one experiment through a fully automated workflow.

Iain Boyd has also been named National Security Faculty Director for the Research & Innovation Office. In this capacity, he will be building new research partnerships between campus and the defense community.

The Leeds School of Business won the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Teaching and Pedagogical Innovation Award at the Global Consortium for Entrepreneurship Centers event in Stockholm.

The second edition of Research & Innovation Week, Oct. 14-18, is just around the corner and packed with events that are free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public. Events include everything from expert panels, TED-style talks and film screenings to poster sessions, lightning talks and performances.

The Ball Corporation and its foundation provided a $1 million gift to support the new Aerospace Engineering Sciences building, and a $104,000 grant for scholarships to grow the pool of diverse talent in CU engineering and the Leeds School of Business.
