Anila Narayana purple flowers
Co-President

Anila is a senior student studying Integrative Physiology, Geography, and Public Health at CU. She is interested in medical geography and health, and she hopes to work at individual and institutional levels to improve health equity and education on local and global scales.

When asked why she joined HEAL, Anila says, "I love that, through GlobeMed, I have learned how I can be a better agent of change for health equity, both at individual and institutional levels. Learning via our ghUs and our partnership with Himalayan HealthCare has taught me what sustainable, just, and truly community-driven change looks like, and what my role in fostering this can be. While we learn and discuss these topics at our meetings, I also appreciate that we are able to contribute to current public health initiatives in remote areas of Nepal through our work with Himalayan HealthCare, including midwife trainings, the construction of a healthcare center, and women-led vegetable gardens."

According to Anila, a fun fact about her was that, "when [she]Ìýwas little, [she]Ìýwanted to marry a strawberry!"
