The University of Colorado at Â鶹¹ÙÍøÂ’s Science Discovery program will host a night of family entertainment featuring a CU Wizard Show and a Square Dance Extravaganza from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 19 at the First Congregational Church of Â鶹¹ÙÍø.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Science Discovery, an outreach program of CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø that offers science presentations to young people through field trips, workshops, wilderness camps and other programs.

The Wizard Show by CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø chemistry professor David Nesbitt will “expose the simple beauty of chemistry,” he said, including “a few contained explosions illustrating the ways in which molecules undergo changes,” and discussions of the chemistry of fireworks and of sound, light and color.

The square dance will feature live music from the local band “Pangea” and dinner will be available from “Food for Thought,” a Â鶹¹ÙÍø catering company.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children. For more information or to purchase advance tickets contact Science Discovery at 492-7188. Free Science Discovery T-shirts will be available to purchasers of the first 50 advance tickets.
