"Intellectually challenging." "Natural teaching ability." "Excelled in her roll as mentor." Those are a few of the comments CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø School of Law students used to describe this yearÂ’s Excellence in Teaching Award recipient, Professor Ann Laquer Estin.

Each year the student body of the Law School nominates and votes for the "outstanding and exceptional effort one faculty member has made to enhance students' education experience, both inside and outside the classroom," according to award guidelines.

"As you can imagine, I was delighted to be presented with this year's

Teaching Excellence Award," said Estin. "When I am asked about the Law School, I often find myself bragging about our students, who are terrific: smart, committed and a real pleasure to know and to teach. I appreciate their recognition very much."

Professor Estin will receive $1,000 from the Student Bar Association and the Dean's Office as part of the award.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Estin came to CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø in 1989. She teaches contracts, domestic relations and professional responsibility. Prior to teaching at CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø Estin practiced private law in Denver.
