Nine students from the University of Colorado at Â鶹¹ÙÍø have received scholarships to study in other countries in 2000-2001.

Two diversity scholarships, one awarded by CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø and the other by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, help cover expenses in the Study Abroad program for Colorado residents who are underrepresented on the Â鶹¹ÙÍø campus because they are ethnic minorities or from the state's rural areas.

Scholarships were awarded based on financial need, academic standing, and the student's ability to write and be a good ambassador for the university and the United States.

The application deadline for spring 2001 programs and scholarships is Oct. 1 for most programs. For more information on study abroad scholarships, contact the Study Abroad Programs Office located in the Environmental Design Building at (303) 492-7741, e-mail studyabr@colorado.edu or visit the Web site at .
