The University of Colorado Student Union, in conjunction with the University Hill Neighborhood Association, will sponsor a neighborhood cleanup and social on Sunday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The meeting area for participants will be the University Hill parking lot located at 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

"This is a time to get to know one another and break down barriers to form a stronger, safer community for everyone," said Amanda Breeden, UCSU Community Relations director.

"This is also an opportunity to build coalitions between the university and permanent hill residents."

Organizers are hoping to enlist more than 300 volunteers for the effort, with representatives from student organizations, the Greek system, CU faculty and staff, and Hill residents.

After the cleanup there will be food and refreshments donated by Hill businesses.

Additional supporters of the event include the City of Â鶹¹ÙÍø, Restoring Choices Inc. and the University of Colorado at Â鶹¹ÙÍø.
