Kristen Hislop, former account director at Â鶹¹ÙÍø's Leopard Communications, has been appointed director of the Profiles in American Enterprise program in the CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø College of Business.

"Kristen is well connected with the business community and will help us forge important relationships with our external constituencies," said business Dean Steven Manaster. "She brings the strong combination of a CU MBA and impressive experience in consulting and e-commerce. This acquaints her with the high expectations of our university and the demands of world business."

Hislop replaces Professor John Hess, who retired after 43 years of teaching at CU. He established the Profiles in American Enterprise program 12 years ago and it became one of the most popular classes on campus.

The course, which is now a requirement for all business majors, features CEOs, presidents and other top executives speaking to students on issues facing the marketplace and also offering them career advice. The course features both Fortune 500 executives and entrepreneurial leaders.

Hislop's experience complements the balance of corporate and entrepreneurial representation, Manaster said. Prior to her e-business strategy work at Leopard Communications, she held positions doing consulting work with Fortune 1000 companies.

"Hislop's dedication to excellence will help her direct the program," said Associate Dean Donald Lichtenstein. "She will expect a lot from the students and, knowing our students at CU, I'm certain they will respond."
