CU Astronaut-Alum Scott Carpenter Jan. 31 Event to be Rescheduled
A talk and book signing event featuring University of Colorado at Â鶹¹ÙÍø astronaut-alumnus Scott Carpenter originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 31, on campus has been delayed due to a death in the family.
Carpenter was scheduled to be on the CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø campus to talk about his new book, "For Spacious Skies: The Uncommon Journey of a Mercury Astronaut."Ìý
The second astronaut to orbit the Earth, Carpenter grew up in Â鶹¹ÙÍø and became one of seven Project Mercury astronauts to take part in America's pioneering space program in the 1960s. He was the second astronaut to orbit Earth.
