Waleed Abdalati named new director of CIRES; former NASA chief scientist starts July 1

Waleed Abdalati has been named the new director of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, or CIRES, a joint institute of the 鶹 and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Abdalati is a CIRES Fellow, a CU-鶹 professor of geography and director of the CIRES Earth Science and Observation Center. He will take office on July 1.
