CU-鶹 Provost Russell L. Moore today announced four finalists for the position of dean of Colorado Law. They are S. James Anaya, Mary Anne Bobinski, Laura E. Gómez and Angela Onwuachi-Willig. Public sessions with each of the candidates will be held on campus Feb. 29 through March 16.

David Kang named CU-鶹 vice chancellor for infrastructure and safety

鶹 Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Kelly Fox has named David Kang as vice chancellor for infrastructure and safety, effective May 16. Kang replaces Larry Levine, who filled the position on an interim basis after Steve Thweatt retired in mid-October.

Katherine Schultz named next CU-鶹 School of Education dean

鶹 Provost Russell L. Moore has named Katherine Schultz dean of the School of Education effective Aug. 1, 2016. Schultz succeeds Lorrie Shepard, who is returning to the faculty as a distinguished professor after 15 years as dean. Schultz presently serves as professor and dean of the School of Education at Mills College, a liberal arts and sciences college in Oakland, California.

Mary Kraus named vice provost and associate vice chancellor for undergraduate education

鶹 Provost Russell L. Moore has named Mary J. Kraus as vice provost and associate vice chancellor for undergraduate education, effective June 1, 2016. Kraus succeeds Michael Grant, who will retire on June 30 after 42 years at CU-鶹. “Michael’s commitment to and passion for the success of our undergraduate students is unparalleled throughout his career and this is clearly evident in the programs he has developed and managed during his tenure at the university,” Moore said. “Mary has the vision, enthusiasm and knowledge to build on those successes.”

New CU-鶹 director of ombuds announced

鶹 Provost Russell L. Moore today announced that Kirsi Aulin has been appointed as the new campus ombuds. Aulin replaces Tom Sebok, who retired in December 2015 after 25 years of building and directing the CU-鶹 Ombuds Office.

Professor Matthias Steup, the Philosophy Department Head at Purdue University, has been selected to serve as chair of the 鶹 Philosophy Department starting this fall. Steven Leigh, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, announced the appointment today after an international search.
