Her dissertation examines the role that methods of Constitutional interpretation play in garnering legitimacy for the Supreme Court. Madeline's work has been published in the Journal of Historical Political Economy. She is the Graduate Program Research Specialist for the Department of Political Science and a former Center for Teaching and听Learning Fellow.听Madeline is an award-winning teacher with a Certificate in College Teaching from the Center for Teaching and Learning. She studies American political behavior, public opinion, and political communication with a focus on social media. Her dissertation examines the phenomenon听of "political parasocial relationships," or one-sided relationships voters form with politicians, similar to one-sided relationships they might form with traditional celebrities.
