Spatial Hearing Study

We are听recruiting participants for a research study on how different listening conditions affect our ability to perceive noisy speech that has been processed in a way that mimics state-of-the-art hearing aids. 听We are interested in determining how hearing aid settings can be optimized for speech understanding when we are listening with two ears in realistic environments.听 We are investigating this perception in both individuals with normal hearing and in individuals with hearing loss. Participants will listen to sounds over headphones and repeat back the words/sentences that they hear. The study lasts about two weeks and requires about four hours of testing, typically carried out over three visits to the Hearing Research Lab.

We are looking for adults over the age of 18 who have normal hearing or who have hearing loss.听Currently we are enrolling participants with normal hearing.听 Please contact us if you are interested in scheduling a visit!

Hearing Aid Study

This project explores how different hearing aid settings affect how listeners respond to hearing-aid processed sound.听听 Listening over earphones, participants will judge the intelligibility, the sound quality, and their overall preference for different types of hearing-aid sounds.听 This study begins with a free hearing test.听 If qualified, individuals will then come in for several one-to-two hour sessions, scheduled at times that are convenient for participants. 听听

We are looking for adults who have hearing loss and who are over 18 years of age to participate.

Both individuals with hearing aid experience as well as those without any hearing aid experience are encouraged to participate.听听 Please contact us if you are interested in scheduling a visit!
