Three CU 鶹 faculty members will share their success stories—and their processes—for applying for fellowships:

This virtual program is designed to inspire faculty who are interested in applying for a fellowship. We celebrate these successful faculty and learn from their experiences applying for fellowships. What strategies did they use? Did they apply to more than one? Is it important to reuse, repurpose, and recycle proposals? Join us and learn their paths to successful winning proposals.

Designed for new faculty members and those who would like a refresher, this workshop will provide an overview of the Research & Innovation Office’s (RIO) various units and roles in supporting research, scholarly and creative activities. From providing proposal writing support and targeted workshops to developing strategic partnerships, RIO is here to help identify and secure funding, catalyze new ideas and increase connections across campus.

ThisPrincipal Investigator (PI) AcademyKickoff Webinar will welcome the new PI Academy cohort, providing participants with the opportunity to network with one another and current PI Academy participants/graduates, and to learn about the upcoming components of PI Academy and the various research resources available through the program.

Participants actively engage on a number of “core” research topics to ensure they are well-positioned to apply for and secure external funding for their research, scholarly, and creative work.

On behalf of the Research and Innovation Office, Dr. Tanya Ennis invites scholars, researchers, creators and innovators to help launch a Scholar Learning Community focused on 1) applying for justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (JEDIA) funding opportunities, 2) developing JEDIA-related plans to meet agency requirements (e.g., NSF Broader Impacts Plans, Dept of Energy PIER plans), and 3) fostering a safe space for scholars to engage in mutual learning and support. Dr. Ennis is excited to work withscholars across all colleges, schools, and departments! We invite you to participate in the Scholar Learning Community and three workshops offered this semester, providing a unique opportunity to connect with others across the university.

Register below for one or more of the three workshops supported by the university’s DEI Impact Grant with matching funds from RIO. Up to 40 participants will receive $250 for participation in all three workshops and in the Scholar Learning Community. This session will guide PIs to develop their broader impact identity, the same way one develops their work in their respective research fields. This will in turn help participants craft successful Broader Impact proposals to secure grants and awards. We hope to equip participants with the skills necessary to identify their audience, assets, and partners to develop their BI projects.

CUbit and the AB Nexus Initiative invite you to a special event for researchers interested in exploring opportunities to leverage quantum science and technology to advance human health research.

The event will feature a keynote address by Geetha Senthil, PhD, Deputy Director of the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences and leads NIH efforts in quantum information science and quantum sensing in biology, followed by breakout sessions on key topics of interest.

This event is designed to encourage open discussion, promote the exchange of ideas, and catalyze collaborations to position CU for success with emerging funding opportunities in this area of research.

Did you know the National Science Foundation (NSF) now PIs develop annual individual development plans (IDPs) for postdocs and graduate students supported by NSF funding?

Join the Research & Innovation Office, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and Graduate School for a session focused on effective mentoring practices and the critical role IDPs play in the career progress and evaluation of postdocs and graduate students. In this workshop, you will enhance your mentoring skills, connect with other mentors and learn how to support your mentees in their career development and networking opportunities.

The session will be led by Pallavi Eswara, Director of Postdoctoral Affairs at Boston University.

Interested in applying for a or a ? Faculty are invited to a conversation on the David and Lucile Packard Foundation Fellowships and the W.M. Keck Foundation Research Grants. Previous Packard Fellows and Keck grant recipients will share their successful experiences and be available to answer questions. CU 鶹's Office of Advancement will also provide information about what types of projects each foundation is looking to fund, and how to put together a successful application.

Please note that the Packard Fellowships and Keck Research Grants arelimited submission funding opportunities,requiring an internal competition to determine the applicant(s) that will submit proposals to each foundation. This workshop will be a great opportunity to learn about how to put together a competitive proposal in advance of the internal competition deadline for each opportunity.
