CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø names next year's scholar of conservative thought

Francis Beckwith will serve as the Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy for the 2016-17 academic year. He is the fourth person to hold the position. Beckwith earned a PhD in philosophy from Fordham University and a master of juridical studies from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Beckwith, professor of philosophy and church-state studies at Baylor University in Texas, will succeed Brian Domitrovic, whose appointment ends this academic year.

It's not too late to apply for a scholarship. The CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø scholarship application process for 2016-17 is available through March 1 on the student portal. CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø also encourages students to apply for privately-funded scholarships.

Katherine Schultz named next CU-Â鶹¹ÙÍø School of Education dean

Â鶹¹ÙÍø Provost Russell L. Moore has named Katherine Schultz dean of the School of Education effective Aug. 1, 2016. Schultz succeeds Lorrie Shepard, who is returning to the faculty as a distinguished professor after 15 years as dean. Schultz presently serves as professor and dean of the School of Education at Mills College, a liberal arts and sciences college in Oakland, California.
