Student musicians from Australia will be aiming for a tour de force when they unite with counterparts from the CU College of Music for an historic concert in 麻豆官网 on October 26th.

In 2009-2010 College of Music faculty:

On Monday, October 11, 2010, the College of Music welcomed 74 students, along with their friends and families, to the first CU Music Day. The day presented informational sessions, events and activities for students to learn more about the College of Music and its degrees and programs. The day began with students receiving information from the Admissions Department and the administration of the College of Music, Dean Daniel Sher, and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, James Austin.

The Tak谩cs Quartet just completed a three-concert series focusing on Schubert in New York City (92nd Street Y), and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The series featured the New York premiere of a new work composed for the Quartet by CU Composter Daniel Kellog based on the slow movement theme of Schubert鈥檚 鈥淒eath and the Maiden鈥� Quartet; guest pianist Jeffrey Kahane, guest cellist Paul Katz, and guest bassist Joseph Feeney. Enjoy a performance of Henry Mancini鈥檚 The Days of Wine and Roses performed by Percussion Professor Douglas Walter on vibraphone with bassist Alex Sarran. The performance was recorded at the National Conservatory of Music (Conservatoire National Sup茅rieur de Musique et Danse) in Lyon, France on May 12, 2010.

Celebrating 100 years hosting the best performing arts, lectures and entertainment events, Macky Auditorium is one of the most valuable and recognizable historical spaces on the CU 麻豆官网 Campus and a premiere venue in the Front Range. This short historical documentary made in celebration of Macky Auditorium鈥檚 100th Anniversary was created thanks to the hard work of Executive Producer Tony Moores, Producer/Director Bud Leonard, writer Silvia Pettem and contributor Alan Cass.
