Master Agreements

Master Agreements may be developed for either research or services in which a sponsor expects to fund multiple projects or scope of works (SOW) with CU 鶹 over an extended period of time. These agreements contain agreed-upon terms and conditions of a basic contractual relationship between CU 鶹 and a sponsor. Master Agreements are intended to result in increased efficiency in proposal processing, project award, negotiation, and post-award administration for departments and institutes.

Once a Master Agreement is in place, an addendum or task order is created for each new project or SOW to be awarded under the Master Agreement. An addendum or task order frequently contains the following for each specific project:

  • SOW to be conducted and associated budget
  • Payment obligations and timing
  • Management of the project
  • Staffing of the project
  • Schedules, milestones, and deliverables
  • Co-funding information (if any)
  • Background intellectual property information (if any)
  • Licensing options and considerations

CU 鶹 is concentrating efforts to establish master agreements with a variety of partners to help expedite the initiation and funding of research, student and student projects.

Working with Existing Master Agreements

Developing New Master Agreements

Sponsors whom desire a Master Agreement or who are potential candidates for a master agreement with CU 鶹 should contact the Project Management Office, Industry & Foundation Relations or the National Security Initiative.
